- ACL Reconstruction
“I would like to Thank Doctor Silver and the Physical Therapy Team for giving me a second chance.
On April 22, 2015 had ACL Reconstruction surgery with Dr Silver; he pretty much saved me. During surgery he had to make a decision for me and it was one I can't thank him enough for. Since he made it his job as a doctor by getting to know me and how I want to live the rest of my life, he deserves the Top Doctor 2015 award in which he received. I highly recommend Dr Silver and am so happy I chose him and OAS.
The Physical Therapy team works directly with the Doctors and communication is key for full recovery. I worked directly with Carla to start and then my two times a week appointment was with Chelsea. I ended my 4 month PT appointments with Melissa.
Carla runs a very tight ship and has a very strong team; they explain everything in a great detailed way and push you the best they can and understands your limits. I wouldn't be where I am so quickly without Chelsea pushing me each week. She learned who I was quickly and knew I could do it. Melissa took me on the last month of PT so she could set me up with exercises and a trust in myself. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I was sad when I was released from PT but very proud of where they brought me quickly.
Thank you Dr Silver and the OAS PT Team!”
- 2 Knee's
“Dr. Haas is a true magician. I've had 2 (left and right) knee's done and they are 100% better. Dr. Haas communication is outstanding and he explains the +/- in a clear and concise method. Dr. Haas demeanor is professional and gracious.
Dr. Haas is the real deal !!!
- Rotor Cuff Surgery
“Like anyone needing surgery you're a bit apprehensive about going under the knife. And, you pray for a qualified surgeon. Well, my prays sent me, Dr Andrew Haas, an Arthroscopic Othropaedic Surgeon at Orthopedic Associates of Stamford, CT. I had rotor cuff surgery and not once did I experience any pain or discomfort. I was shock, because everyone I spoke to who had the same surgery was telling me how much pain I would have and how long the recovery would take. Well, all I have to say is that Dr Haas and the other physicians at OAS are professional, polite and skilled specialist. And, I'm going tell everyone about how successful my surgery was. And, I highly recommend Dr Andrew Haas, Orthopeadic Surgeon. ”
- ACL reconstruction
“Dr. Silver is a magician! First, he is a skilled surgeon. Second, but equally important, he is a wonderful person who really cares about the whole patient. He used the newest technology for the ACL reconstruction, and I was walking within days of the surgery. There's been virtually no pain, and the healing - to full activity - has been rapid. I interviewed many doctors before deciding to go with Dr. Silver. My trust was well-placed and I recommend him, and his whole team, HIGHLY. ”
- Rotator cuff repair
“Dr. Schmidt surgically repaired my rotator cuff. Today I completed my formal Physical Therapy. Going forward, I will continue to exercise so that I don't relapse and will strengthen the shoulder. I am so much better already! Everyone from the receptionist through the PT was professional, kind and encouraging. I will miss the PT because they were so positive that I would be fine! I am glad they had the home exercises described and pictured on my "homework" sheet.
I didn't think I would like to use the patient portal but I felt it made it so easy to reach the doctor when I didn't have any critical questions - just minor ones. I didn't feel I was intruding on the staff's schedule and always received my answer.
The facility was bright, cheerful and spotless! I suspect I will return to have the other shoulder repaired some time soon and am happy to have had such a positive experience and outcome with this shoulder.”
- Various Orthopedic Treatments
“My orthopedic problems began to manifest twenty four years ago. The number of orthopedic and pain management specialist I have seen is countless. The complete staff found here at OAS in Stamford, CT has earned my complete trust and loyalty. They have proven for the past 4 years to care for my orthopedic needs successfully, and are the only practice I will ever allow to take care of me. Even with my recent spine surgery, which I was terrified of they take care of me. They know what they are doing, and I have witnessed other patients fears and tears become eased. I am not an easy person to impress. My body is my temple. There is no need to look any further for orthopedic/pain management/or physical therapy. OAS will help you. ”
- Shoulder Tendonitis
“Carla is an outstanding physical therapist; her clinical skills, knowledge base, and ability to communicate and give a sense of hope were "A+". Chelsea who assisted Carla, was also excellent and Cary too!”
- back pain
“, I can honestly say that Dr. Illig was the first doctor I have seen for my back issues who was able to find a combination of medicine and rehabilitation that has brought me true and lasting relief. I am able to do things I have not done in years. Dr. Illig clearly and accurately explained what my injury consisted of and I was able to comprehend what was wrong and how you intended to help me. Then, you followed through and today I am nearly pain free. Dr. Illig is a great doctor who really care about his patients.”
- physical therapy
“I felt I received excellent care at OAS physical therapy. Each therapist made me feel like I was their only patient. I would recommend OAS to everyone”
- labral repair hip replacement
“I have been suffering for a long time with hip discomfort. Once my MRI came back positive with a labral tear I was on the hunt for a qualified surgeon. I live in Stratford Ct, and Dr. Silver came up in a search for labral specialist. I was glad I met him. A caring and compassionate man he is. Patients come first and he is there to listen. Unfortunately the labrum could not be repaired and a full hip replacement was needed. When Dr Silver explained their team approach( 2 surgeons in the operating room) I found that to be unique. Most practices line up multiple surgeries for the day. NOT HERE. I was the only case for Dr. Silver and Dr. Schmidt. The picture above was taken in Grand Cayman 6 weeks after hip replacement. I told Dr. Silver that my family was taking me on vacation to celebrate my 50th birthday. I had to be ready to dive. I was ready and feeling good. Not only is Dr. Silver blessed with great surgical skills, his bedside manner and demeanor is always a cut above the best. His practice flows with great ease from scheduling surgery to speaking with your surgeon should there be a issue. The practice manager Paula runs a very tight ship. This is one of the few places that truly cares about the patient experience. Surgery is not fun, but if needed this is the only place I would ever go. Thank you all at OAS for a great experience and outcome.”
